Our Vision and Values

“Together, we learn, grow and flourish”

As our school vision, this is at the heart of all that we do. Rooted in our Christian foundation, supported by our village community and guided by our core values of perseverance, responsibility, integrity, compassion, forgiveness and respect, we inspire children to be curious, communicate with confidence and develop the skills and character to succeed.

Together, we learn through a uniquely structured and immersive curriculum that inspires curiosity, deep thinking and a love of discovery.
Together, we grow spiritually, encouraging reflection, understanding and thoughtful action in our world.
Together, we flourish within our whole-school community and support each other to become the very best version of ourselves.

Our vision is one that is supported by its biblical underpinning:

“Remember this – a farmer who plants only a few seeds will get a small crop. But the one who plants generously will get a generous crop.”

(2 Corinthians 9:6)

We see these seeds as our core values. They are embedded in our daily worship, are the language which is heard throughout the school and are lived out and modelled by all in our school community. We believe that the more seeds we plant and help to grow, the more our children will flourish.

Links to the Church of England

Our vision reflects the Church of England’s vision for education. We aim to ensure that every child will flourish and experience life in all its fullness (John 10:10).

Central to our vision is a deep belief in the inherent worth of every individual, with human dignity placed at the heart of a high-quality education.

We will:

- Provide wisdom through teaching that is vivid, imaginative, and inspiring

- Encourage children to challenge themselves spiritually, morally, intellectually and creatively

- Foster positive relationships within the school and strengthen links with the local community

- Uphold the dignity and worth of every person, created in the image of God and loved by God

Partnership with our local church – All Saints

We are proud of the strong partnership that we have with our local church; All Saint’s in the heart of the village. We support each other in many ways. This includes meeting regularly, leading Collective Worship in school, leading and supporting our church services, giving Bibles as leaving gifts for our Year 6 children, running Wild Church and Experiences throughout the year and supporting the school’s Christian distinctiveness. This partnership can be seen through our achievement of a Silver Award in the Church School Partnership Award.

You can visit the church and enjoy the beautiful building and the surrounding space using the trail created by some of our children. You are also very welcome to attend any of the services at the church, or another church in the benefice (please see the link below for details) Children are always welcome.

British Values

At Sutton Benger, we actively promote the fundamental British values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, and mutual respect and tolerance of different faiths and beliefs. These are woven into school life and learning. As part of our responsibility to support pupils’ spiritual, moral, social, and cultural development, we challenge behaviour or views that go against these British values. All staff uphold high professional standards and model these values, helping to maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive school community.

Through our teaching of British Values, pupils will:

- Learn how they can have a say and help make decisions through democracy

- Understand that rules and laws keep everyone safe and protect our rights

- Take responsibility for their behaviour and make positive choices that help the school and wider community

- Know that everyone has the right to their own beliefs and faiths

- Respect and accept people who have different beliefs, or none at all

- Recognise discrimination and understand why it is important to challenge it
