Starting School

We would like to officially welcome you to Sutton Benger C of E School. Our vision 'Together we learn, grow and flourish' is at the heart of all we do - we know how important it is for both you and your child to feel settled and happy about starting school in order to be ready to explore all that life at Sutton Benger can offer you.

Below is information about our 'Starting School' process and the lovely things we do to help you settle and become part of our school community. If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact us.

We look forward to welcoming you to our welcome meeting on Tuesday 11th June 4-5pm. It is a great opportunity for you to find out about our school, the EYFS curriculum and information about your child starting school. If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact us. Due to the nature of the meeting, we ask that children do not attend.

On Wednesday 3rd, Monday 8th and Thursday 11th July, we look forward to welcoming you into Willow Class for a 15-minute slot to come and visit us in school on your own with your child. This is a lovely opportunity for us to get to know you and your child on your own. Please sign up via the link sent to you.

Mon 2nd September - TD day – school will be closed to all pupils.

Tues 3rd – Fri 6th September - 8.50am-11.30pm (school gate opens at 8.45am)

Mon 9th and Tues 10th September - 8.50am-1.15pm (to include lunchtime)

From Wednesday 11th September, your child will be full time in school (8.50am-3.20pm) There will be an opportunity to discuss this if school or home feels that your child should continue part time.

The children will line up by the wooden gate of our outdoor area and will be led into school. Please meet them here when collecting.

At Sutton Benger School we know the importance of a smooth transition for your child. As part of this, we will visit all nurseries, preschools and childminders that your child attends. This enables us to meet with your child in a familiar setting as well as chat to the people who know them so well. The children really enjoy our visits!
